The PDF has only pp. 1-30. The other "pages" are only the tiny placeholder icons..thought you should know as ereader readers won't get the experience you wanted.

Thank you so much for this. It's easily the most beautifully written, imaginative, captivating fic I've ever read. Honestly, I'll never get over how flawless it is. You're amazing.

Thank you for writing this. I am in complete and utter shock of how *good* this story was. At first, given the whole Jesus is dead thing, I really didn't expect anything of it. But the moment you named Jesus as Logos Incarnate, I was all *GodDamn (or maybe DeanDamn? RaguelDamn?) this story has its shit together.* Thank you for being terrific. Thank you for telling a damn good *love* story.
R.C.mclachlan on November 22nd, 2011 01:17 pm (UTC)

Sorry I'm so late in replying! BUT THANK YOU! This is an amazing comment, especially this: "this story has its shit together." BEST COMPLIMENT EVER.

So I found this fic, and set it aside until I had the chance to read it all in one sitting. Which I have just done. And I've spent the last half hour staring at the screen trying to work out what I can POSSIBLY say to express how amazing it is.

It's epic. Not just epic as in amazing, but epic as in grand, sprawling, long, intricate, Lord-of-the-Rings-like. Actually, (and I'm sure somebody somewhere will lynch me for this) it's BETTER than LotR, because Tolkien took the archetypes that had been around forever and went and played with them, and his style lets you watch what's happening but not feel it.

Whereas this? This is the exact opposite. You took the cliches and turned them completely upside-down, and you put us in Dean's head, and I felt every moment of it.

I loved how Dean likened the battle to the LotR movies, because your whole fic is like that: that shivery awed feeling. Reading this, it hit me over and over. I was just completely blown away by your images, your ideas, your characters. Sariel dissolving into colour, doing her herald thing. The reveal of Castiel's origin. The development between Dean and Cas. Dean's dreams. The hermit crabs. EVERYTHING. It was all unspeakably beautiful and gorgeous and wonderful, and I love it (in case that wasn't already obvious), and now I'm going to go and reread it all again, just because.

Thank you SO MUCH for writing~

This was such an amazing thing to find in my inbox this morning. Comparing the story to LotR? HELLO EARLY CHRISTMAS PRESENT. Oh god, thank you for this amazing comment. I'm so thrilled you enjoyed the story so much; I can't even put into words how happy I am.

Thank you SO MUCH for reading~

I just finished reading this and had to come here and say how much I loved it. Because it was so awesome. I love me a snarky Dean and every character was just spot on brilliant. This, and unending love for Castiel's creation story, a garrison of angels fucking up Bobby's knick knacks, Gabriel and his Chinese food -- and only five thousand other things I can't think of off the top of my head. Time and again I laughed out loud until I thoroughly annoyed other people in my general vicinity. Great plotting, too . . .

Oh, and perhaps it's the mention of tightey-whiteys and "a storm's a-comin" that causes me to suspect you and I have been listening to the same comedian . . . If so, I approve. ;)

YAY! YOU ARE THE FIRST TO GET THE TITUS REFERENCES! FINALLY! Man, I feel like no one knows about him -- or at least no one I know IRL. You have just made my morning!

I can't believe I downloaded this. Repeats 100 times.

Oh gosh. Oh gosh. The summary alone is making me cringe like crazy, but my curiosity and desire to read good Destiel fic is too strong. Talk about a juicy apple.

Gah. Ok. *Inhales*. Here goes nothing...

Holy shit, this is the best fic I have ever read. No, really, it's the best one. Ten years of this nonsense and this one is the best there's ever been. I'm not even thinking about it. I'm not even thinking, maybe top ten, maybe top five, what about august's absolutely devastating CJ/Toby from back in the day, what about antennapedia's Giles, what about rosacularis's Ten...

No, man. I am not even thinking about where this one slots. It went right to the top. It made its very own pile. If I ever read another fic this good I will be damned lucky, and then I will roll over and die.

Fucking well done.
R.C.mclachlan on February 21st, 2012 01:11 pm (UTC)
Oh man, that's a lot of pressure to put on my shoulders. I AM NOT GOOD WITH THAT KIND OF PRESSURE.

Kidding. Thank you so much! I am so happy you enjoyed it!

Howdy! Well, I checked the original link and it seems fine, but I uploaded the PDF to another source. If you don't have luck with that one, I can just send you the file. :-)

Usually when I click on a link to a fic that has this many chapters, I kind of mentally groan and roll my eyes like-- will it be worth it to read a fanfiction for this long, or should I put it down and go read a fucking book? Well, I'm really happy that I went ahead and clicked through to the first chapter because I was totally hooked. Your Dean was spot on, and even better-- the Dean/Cas stuff was so believably them.

I am now absolutely convinced that Cas setting hermit crabs free while Team Free Will vacations in Hawaii is the perfect way to end the series.

I've just finished reading and I have to say, this was ... no words.. pleasure to read!
I wish I could've download the pdf version as well!
but I'm gonna keep this in my bookmarks so I can come back and read again, time to time.

Hey there- I just wanted to let you know that I recced this fic on a new recs blog I'm starting, which you can find at bestficever.blogspot.com, or at the eponymous tumblr. Hope this is okay with you. Thanks for this great story; it's one of my favorites. I mean, me and everybody else in the Supernatural fandom. ;)
R.C.mclachlan on August 14th, 2012 07:03 pm (UTC)
Thank you very much! I just started following it on Tumblr. <3
Grymtkurogrym on August 17th, 2012 08:09 pm (UTC)
Finished and feel ... good. So sad that it's over, knowing that a fic like this comes along once in a rare while. But can't help but revel in the tremendous journey you've taken me on -- and in a fandom I wouldn't even claim as one of my own. yet. Wow, you might have turned me... (Now I'm a little worried that the later seasons won't stand up to THIS clever, dark, deep fictional "canon." Eek.)

I would love to have access to the .pdf of this ... just so I know I can read it again offline in the future. The acrobat.com version wont' download for me, and the file jungle upload is gone. Any chance this still exists somewhere?

Thank you for a truly spectacular romp. I agree with the post that I followed here, the one praising this story as so breathtaking. Absolutely one of the best stories in any fandom; easily better than 95% of published works of fiction and, quite probably, even better than the series that gave birth to it. Complex, plotty, smart, passionate, epic, laugh-out-loud humorous, eye-wetting drama, hold-you-breath action. There aren't words enough.

Looking forward to reading more of your work in the future.

Sorry about the late reply! Thank you so much for your wonderful words. I'm so glad you enjoyed the story.

As for a PDF, whenever I post it for download on a file-sharing site, that site goes down. I'm starting to think it's me. Anyway, "Named" is on AO3, which gives you the option of downloading it (top right button) as a PDF or any other file like it: http://archiveofourown.org/works/145053/chapters/207363

Hope that helps. Thank you so much again!

Download/Read link issues
Erm, the DL/Read links don't work anymore.
I'd love to read it. And I'm going to, it's just...I'd like to be able to download it and read it at my own pace instead of a 3 hour marathon.

Re: Download/Read link issues
Hi! Sorry about that. Every time I post it to a site for download, that site goes down.

However, the story is on AO3, which allows you to download stories as PDFs or other files like it. The download button will be in the top right corner. I hope that helps. http://archiveofourown.org/works/145053/chapters/207363

Hi, I just spent six hours today reading this story and I must say I haven't been this affected by a fan story in a looooong time. Excellent work, really well done and multiple interesting concepts. I loved this. A++ Would Read Again.

I'm new to Destiel and fan fics in general, and I've been going through them like freaking potato chips. I realized after like my 50th one, that I should probably be commenting to show my support especially to the ones that I love.
So, I just wanted to say that I loved this fic!!! Dean has a special place in my heart because he gets picked on so much by the writers and he just needs a hug, so when everyone stood to Name him, I was pretty much crying. It warmed my heart so much. And at first, I was a little hesitant with Jesus being involved, but you freakin' NAILED it!!! (Oh, shit... unintentional blasphemy, but I'm leaving it.)
Anyway, simply amazing! Thanks for creating it and sharing it with us!

Just finished "Named"
Unlike you, I am not brilliant with words. All I can say is that I ran through this story in one long shot and was left wanting more. I too laughed, cried, got excited. I was shocked and apprehensive at finding the twist about Dean but your writing carries the reader through that and doesn't disappoint. I was shocked and elated when finding out about Castiel's origins. The relationship and physical connections between Dean and Cas were beautiful and lovingly done.

I've been hooked on Destiel fan fiction for the last solid week and have to say that so far your's has been the best!

Thank you!

I don't think I've actually ever read a story so great, so thorough, so amazing. You took those characters and made them into something even more amazing than the show does.

This is a compete, touching and moving story and I feel honored that I could read it. I gotta admit, I've been barely sleeping since I stumbled upon this story and I couldn't focus on work; I was even reading this in traffic on my phone and in the bathtub and in bed. I even preferred to read it than watching actual Supernatural.

Wow. Just wow.

I love the developing relationship between Dean and Castiel. I think it could've been a bit slower than it was, but I'm a big sucker for slow development and truth be told they didn't have that much time to begin with. So I'm fine with how things went down with them. I also absolutely LOVED Sam!

(One technical thing - when I was reading the Spanish parts on my phone, I couldn't read the translation. It's no big deal, since I read it on my computer, but it's something to think about.)

Anyway, I'm without words to describe my feelings. I feel like I just finished a fantastic book with characters I loved and now I have to part with them and I really don't want to do it. This is so much more than just a fanfiction.

Eternal cookies for you, my friend. Eternal cookies and chocolate.
